Environmental Impact
The CCPP Pancevo construction project provides for the adoption of all necessary measures to reduce atmospheric emissions, minimize noise impact, and protect the water basin.
These measures are implemented in accordance with the requirements of the applicable legislation of the Republic of Serbia and the legal norms of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The company operates in close cooperation with the state authorities of Serbia and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, which regulate the environmental activities of enterprises.
It is important to note that, after the putting the CCPP Pancevo into operation and, accordingly, the decommissioning of the oil TPP, the use of natural gas (unlike the oil power plant currently operating at the Refinery) will allow to eliminate emissions of sulphur dioxide and particulate pollutants into the atmosphere.
In general, the construction of the first gas-fired power plant in Serbia, in the city of Pancevo, will have a positive impact on the environmental situation in the city.
